During our free 15-minute phone consultation, we will talk about the issues for which you are seeking help, discuss my approach, and determine together whether we might work well together.
To schedule your initial phone consultation, please call me at 646-397-8889 or email me at drsorensen@sorensenpsychotherapy.com. I will respond within 24 hours.
Once we’re ready to work together, I will send you paperwork to fill out using my online portal with your background, contact information, insurance information, etc. When we’ve set our first meeting day and time, you will receive a link for the online video session as well as reminders if you have opted to receive those, or directions to meet me at my office if we will meet in person.

If we determine in our phone conversation that I may be helpful to you, we will schedule a first session to take place via telehealth video call, or in person at my office.
Treatment with me typically consists of weekly 45-minute or 60-minute sessions for individuals. Couples meet for 60-minute sessions. The length of treatment depends on your needs and goals. Some patients choose to focus on more immediate goals and others benefit from a more open-ended process.

I am considered an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance directly. Many people are eligible for reimbursement for therapy services using their out-of-network-benefits. I will provide you with the documentation you need to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company. You may wish to contact your insurance company before starting treatment to confirm your out-of-network coverage for mental health services.
During our phone consultation, we will discuss the range of fees for different types of service. Payment is due at the time of service.

I offer teletherapy sessions using a HIPAA-compliant online platform.

My office is at 241 Central Park West, Suite 1A.
My hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please let me know at least 48 hours out from our scheduled time. If I can reschedule our appointment within the week, a cancelation fee will not be charged . If we are unable to reschedule, you are responsible for the cost of the session. I will make every effort to reschedule sessions when you have a conflict.
